Hello, Hello!
We’ve just got back from Cairns (which was absolutely amazing!) and I’m here to tell you a little bit about our stay at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort for a 4-day holiday trip! The Resort is located just 5km from Cairns Airport, 4km from Cairns CBD. The Resort has more than 10 acres of tropical rainforest gardens, 3 lagoon-style swimming pools (it’s pretty magical with little waterfalls, a cave and a slide) also a children’s playground. The place is perfect for kids! They also have a tour booking office where you can organise your activities around Cairns such as The Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Forest. They also offer FREE parking!
Upon our arrival we got our temperature checked as Covid Safety Procedures (which is great that they are taking all safety measures needed) and we were assisted by their friendly and welcoming staff on check-in with a map of the facilities and information about the city. Also if you are thinking of having your destination wedding you can consider their Heritage-style Conference and Events Centre (accommodating up to 300 guests) as a nice place for it.
We stayed in their newly refurbished “Superior Room” and were lucky enough to have a stunning view of the pool from our balcony where we often chill having a read of our books or a drink. The room was also serviced daily with towels, free toiletries and refill for tea/coffee. Plus the room had aircon, television, safety box, electric kettle and refrigerator. One thing that I thought it was great was that there was a lot of power points to charge devices, comfy large beds, hot showers and hairdryer.
I highly recommend stopping by the Thirsty Flamingo Restaurant and try the veggie pumpkin gnocchi. It’s absolutely delicious and you can always enjoy their everyday HAPPY HOUR from 4pm to 5pm (please check with the resort as times can change) overlooking their incredible pool.
